Why we're called Gadriel

In the Book of Enoch, Gadriel — "Wall of God" — was the Watcher set at the gate of Eden. The sentinel. The last line before the garden.

The old texts remember him for a single failure: the night something slipped past the gate that never should have. A distraction. A breach. And everything that came after — every weapon, every harm loosed on the world — traced back to that one unguarded moment at the threshold.

We took the name on purpose.

Because that is the entire problem with AI today. The intelligence is real. The capability is real. But there is no Watcher at the gate. AI writes code faster than anyone can read it. AI agents act in the world before anyone has proven how they'll behave. And the things that slip through — the vulnerability, the hallucination, the runaway cost, the silent bias — don't announce themselves at the threshold. They surface later, in production, when the gate is already long behind you.

Gadriel is the gate.

We validate what AI writes, what AI does, and what AI costs — before it ships. Not a guardrail that reacts after the breach. Not a monitor that tells you what already went wrong. The Watcher at the threshold, proving the system is sound before it's let through.

The lesson of the old story is that the gate is everything. Guard it well, and nothing gets past you. Guard it poorly, and you spend forever cleaning up what did.
